Jennifer has spent most of her career in the field of education and music. Teaching for more than 25 years, Jennifer believes that it is truly empowering to help others reach their greatest potential, both academically and personally. She has a love for teaching through the lens of positivity and encouragement.
As a young child, Jennifer had a great love and excitement for music. She began her own music educational path with piano lessons at age 8, guitar at age 12 and singing from the very beginning. She continued to study and develop her talents through state vocal competitions and performance opportunities. Upon entering college, she was chosen as an ambassador and performer representing the United States. For the next several years she went on numerous international tours to over 26 countries, performing in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, the South Pacific, Canada and throughout the world. These experiences gave her strong foundational communication skills and a love for connecting with people of all cultures. Jennifer went on to receive her Bachelors Degree in Music in 1987 and moved to Los Angeles.
Once in Southern California she began working as a studio musician recording on multiple projects for Sony Records over the next decade. During this time she also began working for the Music Department at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. She began teaching voice and piano which she would continue for the next 25 years. With her extensive international background, she also worked for the Dean of International Programs at Pepperdine University, where she was involved in facilitating the study abroad programs for students in Germany, London, and Italy. Upon leaving Pepperdine, she continued to teach voice and piano privately and found it to be most fulfilling. Her love of connecting and helping others continued to drive her teaching career forward for the next two decades, when she began her family of four handsome boys.
In addition to her performing and teaching career, Jennifer has taken on many leadership roles and community outreach projects. She has been a leader and liaison with youth groups and staff on humanitarian projects in both Africa and Mexico. She has organized and chaired large fundraisers for the “Avon Breast Cancer Society” and “Shoe for Africa” charities. Jennifer has also been a chairperson in multiple organizations that work toward developing and advancing enrichment education for K-12 grade students and volunteered as an administrator for seven years in the Scouting organization.
After being a lifelong educator, Jennifer is excited to be involved with LessonGram where she can contribute to helping students reach their greatest potential and academic success through positive and innovative learning.
